100g worsted weight acrylic or cotton yarn in 2 colors (I used I Love this Yarn in Red & Light Taupe)
I/5.5 mm hook

TAILGATE CROCHET PATTERN
Starting with Color A, make a magic ring
Round 1: ch 2, hhdc 8 in ring, pull ring closed tight, join to first hhdc with sl st (8 hhdc)
Round 2: ch 2, turn, 2 hhdc in each stitch around, join to first hhdc with sl st (16 hhdc)
Round 3: ch 2, turn, *hhdc in 1 stitch, 2 hhdc in next* repeat from * to * around, join to first hhdc with sl st (24 hhdc)
Round 4: ch 2, turn, *hhdc in 2 stitches, 2 hhdc in next* repeat from * to * around, join to first hhdc with sl st (32 hhdc)
Round 5: ch 2, turn, *hhdc in 3 stitches, 2 hhdc in next* repeat from * to * around, join to first hhdc with sl st (40 hhdc)
Round 6: ch 2, turn, *hhdc in 4 stitches, 2 hhdc in next* repeat from * to * around, join to first hhdc with sl st (48 hhdc)
Round 7: ch 2, turn, *hhdc in 5 stitches, 2 hhdc in next* repeat from * to * around, join to first hhdc with sl st (56 hhdc)
Round 8: ch 2, turn, *hhdc in 6 stitches, 2 hhdc in next* repeat from * to * around, join to first hhdc with sl st (64 hhdc)
Round 9: ch 2, turn, *hhdc in 7 stitches, 2 hhdc in next* repeat from * to * around, join to first hhdc with sl st (72 hhdc)
Crown diameter is approx. 6.75”. To change the size, go up or down a hook size or add or take out increase rounds
Round 10 – 26: ch 2, turn, hhdc in each stitch around, join to first hhdc with sl st (72 hhdc)
Fasten off. Weave in the ends.
