The Petal Shawl Crochet Pattern uses the pretty cluster V stitch. It creates such a pretty design that reminds me of petals. With just a simple 2 row repeat you can create this gorgeous shawl!

Let’s talk yarn! For this shawl I used DK weight, hand dyed, 100% Superwash Merino wool yarn from Yarn Hook Needles. You can use ANY category 3 yarn for this pattern. Wool, acrylic, cotton… it would all work wonderfully. You can even use a different weight yarn. Just go up or down a hook size accordingly.

Pattern notes & stitches to know
ch – chain
dc – double crochet
CL – yarn over, insert hook into stitch, pull up a loop, yarn over, pull through 2 loops, yarn over, insert hook back in same stitch, pull up a loop, yarn over, pull through 2 loops, yarn over and pull through remaining loops on hook
CL V stitch – cluster V stitch (cluster, ch 2, cluster)
· written in US terms
· ch 2 does not count as stitch
· The main color is referred to as Color A and accent color is Color B
· Stripe pattern: 8 rows Color A, *2 rows Color B, 4 rows Color A* repeat from * to * for color pattern
· Shawl starts in one corner and is worked in turned rows. One side increases while the other stays the same. This creates the asymmetrical triangle shape.
· I made it a shawlette size, but it can easily be made larger by continuing the 2 row repeat.
