Welcome back for Part 2 of the Mandala Blanket Crochet Along! This week we will continue to make our circle larger and add some pretty scallops.

Materials
worsted weight yarn in 3 colors (I used I Love this Yarn from Hobby Lobby)
H/5.0 mm hook
yarn needle
scissors

Level
intermediate

Pattern notes & stitches to know
ch – chain
sl st – slip stitch
hdc – half double crochet
TL – third loop – insert hook into “third loop” of hdc and work stitch
sc – single crochet
dc – double crochet
dc vst – double crochet v stitch – (dc, ch 1, dc) in one stitch
2dcCL vt – 2 double crochet cluster v stitch – (2dcCL, ch 1, 2dcCL) in one stitch
ldc – long double crochet – insert hook into row below previous and work a dc
tr – treble crochet
bpsc – back post single crochet
sc3tog – single crochet 3 together

· written in US terms

· beginning ch 1 does not count as stitch

· beginning ch 2 does not count as stitch

· This pattern starts in the middle and works outwards in joined rounds.

· Pattern is made with 3 colors. Linen is Color A, Blue is Color B, Pink is Color C.

· It is indicated in the pattern when to change colors.

· Do not fasten off each color. Carry each color.

Approx Finished size:  17” diameter from tip to tip

Join Color C to the 2nd hdc in a tr3tog

Round 12: ch 2, hdcTL in each stitch around, join to first hdc with sl st (96 hdc)

Round 13: ch 2, *((dc, ch 1) x 4, dc) in same stitch, skip 2, scTL in 7 stitches, skip 2* repeat from * to * around, join to first dc with sl st (40 dc, 56 sc)

Change to Color B

Round 14: ch 2, *dc vst in each dc, skip 3, sc in next, skip 3* repeat from * to * around, join to first dc with sl st (40 vst, 8 sc)

Change to Color A

Round 15: sl st to ch-1 space, ch 2, *2dcCL vst in each ch –1 sp, skip sc* repeat from * to * around, join to first CL with sl st (40 vst)

Change to Color B

Round 16: ch 1, *sc in 3 stitches, hdc in 3 stitches, dc in 1 stitch, (tr, ch 1, tr) in ch-1 space, dc in 1 stitch, hdc in 3 stitches, sc in 3 stitches, ldc* repeat from * to * around, join to first sc with sl st (48 sc, 48 hdc, 24 dc, 16 tr)

Change to Color C

Round 17: sl st to next stitch, ch 1, *sc in 3 stitches, hdc in 3, 2 dc in next, 3 dc in ch-1 space, 2 dc in next, hdc in next 3, sc in next 3, sc3tog* repeat from * to * around, join to first sc with sl st (56 sc, 48 hdc, 56 dc)

Change to Color B

Round 18: sl st to next stitch, ch 1, *sc in 3 stitches, hdc in next 3 stitches, dc in next 2, 3 dc in next stitch, dc in next 2, hdc in next 3, sc in next 3, sc3tog* repeat from * to * around, join to first sc with sl st (56 sc, 48 hdc, 56 dc)

Round 19: sl st to next stitch, ch 1, *sc in 7 stitches, 2 hdc in next, (dc, ch 1, dc) in next, 2 hdc in next, sc in 7 stiches, sc3tog* repeat from * to * around, join to first sc with sl st (120 sc, 32 hdc, 16 dc)

Do not fasten off.
