What is a crochet along (CAL)?

A crochet along is when a pattern is broken up into parts and a group works on each section at the same time. It’s fun because you can share your progress with each other and ask questions!

I like to do things pretty casual for a crochet along. There is no “signing up” to join, you simply follow along with the pattern as the different sections get posted! The best way to stay updated on release dates and things is to join my FACEBOOK GROUP and/or SIGN UP FOR MY NEWSLETTER.

Here are the details–

– We will start on Friday, January 10th.

– The CAL will last 10 weeks and will end on Friday, March 14th. Each part will release on Fridays at 6 AM MST

– Each week the next section of the blanket pattern will be released.

– Each week there will be a brand new post on my blog with that weeks’ section of the pattern. There will be a PDF available to download on my blog each week for the duration of the CAL. After it’s over, the free PDF’s will be taken down and moved to my shops. So even if you get behind, make sure to get the printable every week! 🙂

– This blanket is an intermediate level. It uses basic stitches and some special stitches. There will be a full video tutorial for each part.

– Materials: approx 49oz/2485yds (total) worsted weight yarn & H/5.0 mm hook

– Approx finished size (lapghan): 47″ x 47″

– I used 7 skeins of I Love This Yarn from Hobby Lobby in White (3 skeins), Orchid (2 skeins), & Light Peach (2 skeins). Each skein is 7oz/355yds.

– There will be a new post for each week, but I will also link each week at the bottom of this post. You can save this post on Pinterest or Ravelry!

    1. I’ve seen them done in one color. I think I’ll try that for this CAL
      Really looking forward to this
      Thank you !

    1. You should put out some color coordinating ideas for this CAL. I feel like that’s what I struggle with is finding color schemes for blankets that would look nice together.

  1. I did not complete the previous mandela but am determined this one will be completed. Excited to get started. Love “I Love This Yarn”.

  2. I made the last CAL Mandala blanket and enjoyed it! Thanks so much for your CAL’s they are great fun. Happy New Year to you and yours.

  3. I’ve never started a CAL from the beginning, but I’m looking forward to this one! Thank you for sharing with us!

  4. How beautiful! I always seem to start and not finish. This new year is the year to get things done! Will the first week be picking the yarns or should we have them ready to go? Also, could I use a self striping yarn for this project?
