The Easy Chunky Cowl Crochet Pattern uses super bulky yarn and works up so fast! I love the texture this stitch adds to the super bulky yarn. It’s called the Crunch Stitch and it has just a one row repeat!
I used Lion Brand Mandala Thick & Quick. It’s their classic Thick & Quick yarn but in a self striping cake. This colorway is called Pocket Watch and I think it’s so perfect for fall!

I would love to see this in a scarf. How many cakes would it take to make a scarf?
Hi! I’m thinking at least 3 🙂
It took me two hanks of Noro – Kureyon AIR, 100% wool, super bulky. The label says it’s 100g/100m. It goes thick and thin but it averages about 5 wraps per inch.
How cute would this be to connect the ends with a twist, do it in rounds and have a chunky mobius cowl with this stitch and yarn! Lovely, just lovely.
I almost did exactly that, but decided that she could wear it stretched across both shoulders. She’s glam like that! I may do my own in rounds and sew it up mobius, tho’.
I’m new to crochet. I’ve got my first row but having trouble knowing where to insert hook on row 2 for sl at in next hdc.
I only found 1 video on you tube showing this stitch but she is going so fast I can’t see where to place the hook. Can you refer me to a video that spreads out the yarn ina way to see this? Thanks.
Hi. On youtube, use the gear or tool symbol to access the tool menu. You may have to touch your screen to bring it up, usually in the top right corner, if you’re using a phone or tablet. Choose .75 or even .5 speed for learning. It really helps. I also check with the 3 dots on top right of page or screen to be certain I’m viewing the video on my browser. The mobile view is limited in options. Hope this helps
