The Claret Coasters Crochet Pattern is named after one of the most beautiful desert cacti. These beginner friendly linen stitch coasters are the perfect addition to any sunroom or patio table. Have fun with color to create your favorite summer combinations!
Claret Coasters Crochet Pattern
Materials
35 yards/15 grams total of any DK weight yarn held double, per coaster. Sample uses WeCrochet Cotlin in the Modern Desert value pack.
7.00 mm crochet hook
Scissors
Yarn needle
Gauge
It is not necessary to achieve a certain gauge for this project. However, if you are limited on yardage or want the same dimension as the sample(s) I suggest checking.
14 sts and 12 rounds = 4 inches, in linen stitch worked in the round

ch: chain
st(s): stitch(es)
*…*: repeat the instructions in the asterisks the designated number of times
{…}: work larger repeat the designated number of times
[…]: work in the same stitch or chain
ss: slip stitch
sc: single crochet
f/o: finish off
Pattern Notes
-Find the yarn value pack used for the samples here!
-If you’re using a yarn substitute, I recommend choosing a yarn with a high cotton content to ensure durability.
-These coasters are crocheted using two strands of yarn held together. Feel free to use two different colors or two strands of the same color, or substitute for one strand of a heavy worsted/bulky yarn.

Holding two strands of yarn together
Make a magic ring (or, ch 3 and slip stitch to the first st to form a ring) and ch 1
Round 1: *sc, ch 2* four times total, ss to the first st.
Round 2: ch 2, sk the first st, [sc, ch 2, sc] into the ch 2 space, *ch 1, sk 1, [sc, ch 2, sc] into the ch 2 space* three times total, ss to the beg ch 2 space.
Round 3: ch 1, sc in the same space, *ch 1, sk 1, [sc, ch 2, sc] in the ch 2 space, ch 1, sk 1, sc in the next st* three times total, ch 1, sk 1, [sc ch 2, sc] in the ch 2 space, ch 1, sk 1, ss to the first st.
Round 4: ch 2, *sk 1, sc in the next st, ch 1, sk 1, [sc, ch 2, sc] in the ch 2 space, ch 1, sk 1, sc in the next st, ch 1* three times total, sk 1, sc in the next st, ch 1, sk 1, [sc, ch 2, sc] in the ch 2 space, ch 1, sk 1, sc in the next st, ss to the beg ch 2 space.
Round 5: ch 1, sc in the same space, ch 1, sk 1, sc in the next st, ch 1, sk 1, [sc, ch 2, sc] in the ch 2 space, {*ch 1, sk 1, sc in the next st* three times total, ch 1, sk 1, [sc ch 2, sc] in the ch 2 space} three times total, ch 1, sk 1, sc in the next st, ch 1, sk 1, ss to the first st.
Round 6: ch 2, sk 1, *sc in the next st, ch 1, sk 1* two times total, [sc, ch 2, sc] in the ch 2 space, {ch 1, sk 1, *sc in the next st, ch 1, sk 1* four times total, [sc, ch 2, sc] in the ch 2 space} three times total, *ch 1, sk 1, sc in the next st* twice, ss to the beg ch 2 space.
Round 7: ss loosely in ea st and ch around.
f/o and weave in your ends.
Repeat these instructions as many or as few times as you would like to complete your Claret Coaster set!
