Border (Stitch Samper Scrapghan – Part 14)

Welcome to the final week of the Stitch Sampler Scrapghan CAL… the Border! For the border, I used the camel stitch. This is a variation of the half double crochet.

Materials
Worsted weight yarn in border color and 5 additional blanket colors
H/5.0 mm hook
Yarn needle
Scissors

Level
easy

Pattern notes & stitches to know
ch – chain
sc – single crochet
hdc – half double crochet
TL – third loop (insert hook into third loop of hdc and work stitch)
sl st – slip stitch

· written in US terms

· ch 1 does not count as sc

· This pattern uses the camel stitch for the border. The border can be made with any stitch you’d like.

· I changed color every round of the border.

PART 14 – BORDER

Join border color to a corner.

Round 1: ch 1, *(sc, ch 2, sc) in corner, sc across to next corner* repeat from * to * around join to first stitch with sl st

Join new color to ch-2 space

Round 2: ch 2, *(hdc, ch 2, hdc) in ch-2 space, hdc in each stitch across to corner* repeat from * to * around, join to first hdc with sl st

Join new color to ch-2 space

Round 3: ch 2, *(hdc, ch 2, hdc) in ch-2 space, hdc in next stitch, hdc TL in each stitch across to last stitch before ch-2 space, hdc in next* repeat from * to * around, join to first hdc with sl st

Repeat round 3 to round 6, changing colors each round.

Fasten off. Weave in the ends.
