Crocheting wreaths is so much fun! I had some extra apples from Michael’s around (I used them for our Apple Pie Sensory Bin) and I wanted to incorporate them in my fall decorating.
PATTERN
Materials
Worsted weight (4) yarn – I used I Love This Yarn in Ivory, Fire Red, Mid Green, and Toasted Almond
5.0 mm hook
Scissors
Yarn needle
12 inch styrofoam wreath
Raffia
Small apples (I found mine at Michael’s in the floral section)
hot glue

Pattern Notes & Stitches to Know
Sl st – slip stich
Ch – chain
Sc – single crochet
WREATH
Start with Ivory
Ch 19 (test this around the wreath, add or take out chains as needed)
Row 1: sc in 2nd chain from hook, sc across, ch 1, turn (18)
Row 2 – 7: sc in same stitch and across, ch 1, turn (18)
Change to green
Row 8 – 9: sc in same stitch and across, ch 1, turn (18)
Change to ivory
Row 10: sc in same stitch and across, ch 1, turn (18)
Change to red
Row 11: sc in same stitch and across, ch 1, turn (18)
Change to ivory
Row 12: sc in same stitch and across, ch 1, turn (18)
Change to green
Row 13 – 14: sc in same stitch and across, ch 1, turn (18)
Repeat rows 1 – 14 to row 112
Do not fasten off, weave in the other ends.
Sew both ends together with a slip stitch
Wrap it around the wreath and sew it closed using a slip stitch, making sure to line up each row.
It looks wavy, but as long as you line up each row it will come out nice and smooth.
DOOR HANGER
In toasted almond
Ch 9
Row 1: sc in 2nd chain from the hook and across, ch 1, turn (8 sc)
Row 2 – 4: sc in each stitch across, ch 1, turn (8 sc)
Row 5: sc in 3 stitches, ch 2, skip 2 stitches, sc in last 3, ch 1, turn (6 sc, 2 ch)
Row 6:: sc in each stitch and chain across, ch 1, turn, (8 sc)
Row 7 – 26: sc in each stitch across, ch 1, turn (8 sc)
Row 27: sc in 3 stitches, ch 2, skip 2 stitches, sc in last 3, ch 1, turn (6 sc, 2 ch)
Row 28: sc in each stitch and chain across, ch 1, turn, (8 sc)
Row 29 – 31: sc in each stitch across, ch 1, turn (8 sc)
Do not fasten off, weave in the other end.
Wrap the hanger around the wreath, bring both end together, sew both ends together with a sc
Use a hot glue gun to secure the hanger to the wreath
Tie a handful of raffia in a bow, glue to the door hanger.
Glue the apples to the lower side of the wreath.
